Yuriy Eryomenko was born on 20 May, 1958 in Mys Shmidta, Iultinsky District, the Magadan Region.

In 1982 he graduated from Penza Plant-Technical College (a branch of Penza Polytechnic Institute).

In September, 1982 he was enrolled to the armed forces. He had different military posts. In 1990 he entered Military Academy of the Signal Corps in St. Petersburg. He graduated from the Academy in 1993 and was sent to the Military Department of Penza Polytechnic Institute, where he made a career from a teacher to director of the Institute of Military Training.

He was awarded a medal of distinction under the decree of the RF President.
