DESCRIPTION
AIMS
research activity:
• conducting individual research in the field of philology applying the obtained theoretical knowledge and practical skills;
• analysing, assessing, and interpreting the results of individual research based on existing philological concepts and methods, formulating grounded inferences and conclusions;
• collecting research information, preparing and editing reviews, abstracts and bibliographic information on research topics, presenting research results to the professional community, and identifying ways of applying research results in practice;
• participating in the work of research teams on philological research topics.
training activity:
• providing organisational and training support for a group (course) of students studying programmes of secondary vocational and higher education (bachelor’s and specialist’s levels);
• ensuring methodological support for the implementation of programmes of secondary vocational and higher education (bachelor’s and specialist’s levels);
• ensuring scientific, training and methodological support for the implementation of programmes of secondary vocational and higher education (bachelor’s and specialist’s levels);
• delivering training courses and disciplines within programmes of secondary vocational and higher education (bachelor’s and specialist’s levels).
applied activity:
• ensuring interlanguage and intercultural communication in spoken and written forms in official and unofficial fields of communication;
• managing the quality of translations and ensuring editorial and technical management for translations.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
On successful completion of the course, the student should be able to:
• apply a wide range of communication strategies and tactics, as well as rhetoric and stylistic techniques, adopted in various fields of communication, to professional activities;
• apply to professional activities, the modern scientific paradigm in the field of philology and dynamics of its development, as well as systems of methodological principles and methodological techniques for philological research;
• possess a wide range of methods and techniques for philological work with various types of texts;
• conduct individual research aimed at solving separate research tasks in the field of language system in synchronic and diachronic aspects, in the sphere of verbal, written and virtual communication, as well as identify ways of applying research results in practice;
• deliver training courses and disciplines (modules) within programmes of secondary vocational and higher educations (bachelor’s and specialist’s levels);
• implement oral and written professionally oriented translations from a foreign language into Russian and vice versa;
• manage the quality of translations.
