The Centre for Teaching and Learning Erasmus+ was established at Penza State University within the international project “Enhancing Teaching Practice in Higher Education in RUSSIA and CHINA” (ENTEP) under Erasmus+ Capacity Building.

The Centre is focused on:
• arranging and running professional development courses under the programme “Enhancing teaching practices at PSU” for teaching and administrative staff of Penza State University;
• consulting PSU teaching and administrative staff on the implementation of the basic principles of the Bologna Process and student-centred teaching and learning;
• providing access to EBSCO Information Services enabling everyone to explore the leading European papers on topical issues in pedagogy and psychology of higher education.
The course materials are placed in the electronic information and education environment at the link and are available to all students, teaching and administrative staff.

Centre for Teaching and Learning Erasmus+ resumes its activity The Centre for Teaching and Learning Erasmus+ established within the international ENTEP project under the Erasmus+ Capacity Building reopens in new premises – office 703 building 8. It aims at integrating the tools and principles of the Bologna Process into teaching and learning at Penza State University. The centre offers professional development courses “Enhancing teaching practices at PSU” for teaching and administrative staff of PSU and organises online events within the ENTEP project. In addition, the centre holds consultations on participating in international projects under the Erasmus+ Programme. |

Goethe-Institut professional development seminar held for German language teachers For two days, the participants of the seminar performed various tasks related to observing and analyzing educational activities on the basis of video recordings of practical classes in the foreign language. In addition, they carried out critical analysis of pedagogical and didactic concepts with the view to the principles and tools of student-centred teaching and learning. |

6th group of Penza universities staff successfully completed training within the ENTEP project Еeaching and administrative staff of Penza universities (Penza State Technological University, Penza State Agricultural University, Penza State University of Architecture and Construction) took the professional development course at the Center for Teaching and Learning Erasmus+. The course was delivered online to provide all participants with the opportunity to undergo training. |

ENTEP project: Fifth group of PSU teachers passed professional development course For the fifth time, the Centre for Teaching and Learning Erasmus+ became the platform for running the professional development course “Enhancing teaching practices at PSU”. The course was offered for PSU teaching and administrative staff in the distance mode. However, that did not stop the trainees from engaging in contact work, discussing topical issues and analysing challenges of teaching enhancement. |

Fourth group of PSU teachers completed professional development course within the ENTEP project The course was offered online, as the university transferred from traditional to distance learning and teaching. Together with the trainers of the Centre for Teaching and Learning Erasmus+, trainees discussed the most important aspects of the Bologna Process and explored the best European teaching practices. Following the course, trainees responded to a questionnaire, which showed that all of them noted the relevance of the topics and highlighted the practical focus of materials and tasks reviewed. |

Professional development course within the international ENTEP project completed for the third time The third group of Penza State University staff mastered the professional development course “Enhancing teaching practices at PSU”. This time the course was delivered in the blended format, i.e. one part of face-to-face classes was conducted online, and the second part was given on campus. The course materials are freely available in the virtual learning environment of the Penza State University Moodle. |

The second group of trainees completed training in the professional development course “Enhancing teaching practices at PSU” at the Centre for Teaching and Learning Erasmus+. Trainees explored the basic values and tools of the Bologna Process, principles of student-centred teaching and learning (SCTL), innovative approaches and techniques for learning outcomes assessment, as well as modern teaching methods and approaches. |

Second group of PSU lecturers joins the professional development course under the ENTEP project 19 trainees – teaching and administrative staff of Penza State University – undergo training in the professional development course “Enhancing teaching practices at PSU” at the Centre for Teaching and Learning Erasmus+. The classes are held in the distance mode (using the Zoom platform) in order to comply with the transition to distance teaching and learning. |

PSU initiates next stage of the ENTEP project Within the ENTEP project, Penza State University proceeded to updating the content of disciplines on Teaching Methodology, Pedagogy and Psychology in MA curricula, taking into account the principles of student-centered teaching and learning. This is the final stage of the international ENTEP project, which should be implemented during 2020 – 2021. |

PSU started implementing a professional development course under ENTEP international project The aim of the course is to develop psychological and pedagogical competences of trainees while implementing the main provisions of the student-centred approach within European Higher Education Area (EHEA) taking into account the best European practices. |

PSU gains access to IPR BOOKS Digital Library through EBSCO As part of the international project “Enhancing teaching practice in higher education in Russia and China (ENTEP)”, IPR BOOKS Digital Library was made available to Penza State University through EBSCO (leading provider of research databases, e-journals, magazine subscriptions, e-books and discovery service) for 2020. |

European experts from ENTEP consortium visit the Centre for Teaching and Learning at PSU On 8 – 9 October, the experts from European universities paid a working visit to PSU within the project “Enhancing teaching practice in higher education in Russia and China (ENTEP)”. Susana Gonçalves, Professor of Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra (Portugal), Milica Lazovic, research staff member of University of Hildesheim (Germany), and Elena Guseletova, deputy coordinator of ENTEP project (Ural State University of Economics), got acquainted with the project implementation at PSU. |

EU experts develop Didactical Manual and Practical Guide within ENTEP project The experts from Stiftung Universität Hildesheim, Liverpool John Moores University, Alma Mater Studiorum Università di Bologna and Instituto Politécnico de Coimbra participating in the project “Enhancing teaching practice in higher education in Russia and China” (ENTEP) presented the advanced pedagogical approaches and innovative methodologies. |
