On February 9, 2014, the University of Münster hosted a conference dedicated to the history of church government in Europe. Kira Aristova, Associate Professor of “History, Law and Methods of Teaching Law” Department, Faculty of History, Languages and Literature, Penza State University, took part in the conference. In her report “Putyata’s revolt in the context of religious policy of the Soviet government in the early 20th century: the problem of choice in history” she highlighted one of the most tragic periods in the history of Penza Eparchy and analyzed the struggle of the martyr John (Pommer) and the old believer, former archbishop Vladimir (Putyata). The report attracted genuine interest among the participants of the conference.
