Maik Friedrichsen, Master Student from the University of Flensburg, is on his second visit to Penza. He joined other students of foreign languages to take his teaching practice in school-gymnasium №44. During this training he tried his hand at teaching German to Russian kids. Mike is a language student, he studies teaching German as a foreign language professionally. For the last two years he has been studying Russian and he has already visited Penza once.

On the 28th of February Maik had a meeting both with teachers of German and student teachers from Teacher Training College. At the meeting Maike had to answer a lot of questions on various aspects of life in Germany: education in general, university life and studies, different methods of teaching German as a foreign language in Russia and Germany, everyday matters, food habits of German people, and many others. Mike also agreed to prepare a special lesson for student teachers of the college.

Maik’s visit is part of collaboration programme, developed and supported by the Department of German and Teaching German at Penza State University. Head of the Department, Tatyana Razuvaeva, spoke at the meeting about the existing projects and plans of cooperation between Penza and Flensburg universities. The head of the department also spoke on the professional training courses and conferences conducted at the Faculty of History, Languages and Literature. The forthcoming event – German Language Week – is going to include various language contests and master classes by Maik Friedrichsen and Christian Tonko.
