M.A. Gavrilova, department of “Algebra and Methods of Teaching Mathematics and Informatics”, N.A. Pavlova, head of the department “Foreign Languages” – participated in the session of the European Consortium of Teacher Education, that took place in Brussels, on the 12nd and 13th of May, 2014. Members of fourteen European universities gathered in Belgium to discuss various aspects of teacher training at universities.

The meetings were devoted to the coordination of inter-university activities in the spheres of establishing school-university links, sharing of experience, and working out action plans for 2014-2015.

The discussions focused on such issues as becoming a teaching professional, types of occupational skills and their development, setting the framework of programmes for young teachers support, and programmes of lifelong learning.
The consortium is planning to develop an open inter-university information centre on accumulating and exchanging summer schools teaching experience.

The participants also discussed possible joint educational projects within the framework of “Erasmus” programme, due for application in November of 2014.
