Lanzhou Jiatong University Delegation Visit to Strengthen the Ties with Penza State University30.09.2015 14:39
Penza State University receives a delegation from Lanzhou Jiatong University, that ranks third in terms of size and importance among universities in China. This visit continues the development of relations between our university and Gansu province of China. The key aspect of the visit is widening the scope of cooperation and joint activities. The delegation includes the management of different schools of Lanzhou Jiatong University, mainly engineering and transport schools. The guests got acquainted with the university infrastructure, research labs and equipment, showed great interest in research projects in the sphere of technology, developed by our university teams. Head of the delegation, Party Secretary for Education, Wang Ping, noted the positive atmosphere of the university, the professionalism of the teachers and competence of the students. Representatives of two universities signed cooperation agreement on the development of academic mobility for students and staff. V. Meshcheryakov, First Vice-Rector of Penza State University, stressed the necessity of widening the range of cooperation which might encompass not only cooperation in academic sphere but in the spheres of research, culture and arts. The First Vice-Rector noted that the signing and implementation of the agreement signifies strengthening ties of friendship and cooperation between Russia and China. The pivotal point of the inter-university agreement is the development of double-degree educational programme, such scheme has become a common practice internationally. V. Zverovshchikov, head of the Machine Building Technologies Department of the university, described the project of double-degree programme based on this department. The programme implies that the engineering students spend their first years of study in Lanzhou Jiatong University and their third and fourth years – in Penza State Universities. At the final round table meeting the representatives of two universities expressed their satisfaction and hope that the university cooperation will continue at the new level and yield excellent results. |
