PSU representatives negotiated joint research in China

 On August, 3, 2015, the members of the Penza Region delegation had an excursion to Southwest Jiaotong University within the framework of Russian-Chinese youth forum.

In the morning the participants had a walking tour on the campus territory and visited the University library which numbers more than 100,000 books and is crowded even during the summer holidays. The guests learned about great Chinese scientists of the University, whose works are appreciated all over the world.

In the afternoon the participants visited the laboratories of the research centre of the University which is unique in China. Post-graduate students and master degree students use these laboratories to conduct research aimed at improving aero dynamic properties of trains, parameters and characteristics of the wheelbase braking system, etc.

The University Professor Wanming Zhai delivered a lecture titled “Developing high-speed trains in China” in which he told about the history of high-speed train engineering in China, modern designs and opportunities. The Professor also emphasized the joint Russian-Chinese project for building high-speed railway “Moscow-Kazan”.

After the lecture PSU representatives A. Tychkov and A. Alimuradov had negotiations with Ren Xinxong, Director of International Student Exchange Centre, and made preliminary agreements about the opportunity of academic student and staff exchange and of joint research and engineering design and research in the field of transport machine building.
