Library of foreign literature as a source of knowledge for PSU students28.10.2015 09:30
On October, 23, Penza State University was attended by Steve Hillis, a retired senior technical staff officer, Alcoa, Tennessee, and by Ronald Leadbetter, a retired legal service counselor for general issues, Tennessee University. Pedagogical Institute organized a special event dedicated to the tenth anniversary of Information and Resource Centre of Penza State University. The guests were shown the library which was founded with the help of 200 citizens of Alcoa, Tennessee. “Founding the library was a very important event. When you have books, you have food for thoughts and reflections, you have the opportunity to understand our literature, culture, us. Politics, economics, sanctions should be kept aside when we speak about personal development – that was what my fellow citizens said when they collected the books and paid for their shipping”, said Steve Hillis. “For us founding the English library is a significant event. Our students can read foreign literature in the original. It is a very important aspects in training future linguists”, emphasized O.Surina, director of the Pedagogical Institute.
