Interdeparmental workshop with international participation «The World of English: Theory and Practice»

 On 19th of February, 2016, the English Language Department of the Faculty of History, Languages and Literature, Belinsky Pedagogical Institute, Penza State University, hosted Interdepartmental workshop with international participation «The World of English: Theory and Practice».

The chairman of the organizing committee: T. Dubrovskaya, Head of the English Language Department, Doctor of Philological Sciences; the executive secretary: E. Meshcheryakova, senior teacher of the English Language Department. In the course of the workshop, which lasted the whole day, the reporters and guests discussed a variety of issues concerning teaching, learning and practical use of the English language, including the research area. The reports were made by the teachers of the English Language Department and the Department of Foreign Languages T. Dubrovskaya, N. Strunina, E. Krekhtunova, A. Dyatlova, I. Kulikova, Head of the Foreign Languages Department of Penza State Technological University, the Fulbright programme participants T. Langford and C. Haffner.

All the workshop participants enjoyed the reports of Agnieszka Strzalka, the guest from Poland, associate professor of Krakow Pedagogical University. A. Strzalka discussed the problems of teaching speaking and organizing project work.

All the ten reports and discussions were in English. Among the guests of the workshop were the teachers from Penza and the Penza Region schools.  After the workshop the reporters received certificates. The workshop gave the teachers an opportunity to exchange their personal experiences and also inspired them to new practical and methodological experiments.
