Orkhan Novruzov, a PSU student, elected chairman of International Students Association of the Penza Region01.03.2016 15:30
II Reporting – electoral conference of International Students Association of the Penza Region took place in the dissertation hall of Penza State University on 26th of February, 2016. The first chairman of International Students Association of the Penza Region was Mahamat Kishine from the Republic of Chad, the student of the Medical Institute, Penza State University, elected in 2013. This year there were two candidates for the position of the Chairman: Orkhan Novruzov (Azerbaijan), a fifth-year PSU student, and Pande Mayank (India), a third-year PSU student. The conference was opened by S.Vasin, Vice-Rector for international affairs of PSU. He emphasized the importance of the Association’s work and the need for cooperation between the students and university administration. Adou Yao Nicaise, President of International Students Association of Russia, expressed his hope that a tolerant and communicable representative would be elected, the one who would be able to promote the interests of the majority of students and solve difficult tasks through diplomatic channels. 33 student delegates from 25 countries took part in the conference. All the students are from the Penza Region universities: Penza State University, Penza State University of Architecture and Construction, Penza State Technological University. By a majority of votes Orkhan Novruzov was elected new Chairman of International Students Association of the Penza Region. International Students Association of the Penza Region was set up in April, 2013, and is a branch of International Students Association of Russia in Penza. The activity of the association has social importance in the daily life of international students of Penza universities. International Students Association of the Penza Region is a non-governmental organization for supporting and implementing socially important initiatives of international students of the Penza Region. |
