Students of Linguistics: We are glad to have an opportunity to practise language with native speaker

On November 25th, 2016 Tatyana V. Guseva and Ekaterina Yu. Ozhegova, Associate Professors of the Department “Translation and Translation Studies”, the Faculty of History, Languages and Literature, Belinsky Institute of Teacher Education, conducted the master class “Penza State University” in the German language.

Linda Bunk, student from Flensburg (Germany), was a special guest. At present she is studying at the Faculty of Pedagogy, Psychology and Social Sciences in the Institute of Teacher Education. Under the guidance of Associate Professor Tatyana V. Guseva the students of the 14IL1 group, the course in Linguistics, prepared and showed the presentation of the faculty, the Institute of Teacher Education and the university in general.

They described the history and the present of our university. In turn Linda Bunk told our students about the specific features of learning in German universities. The students actively discussed the issues related to education in the universities of Germany and Russia and expressed their viewpoints.

Ksenia Gorshkova, student of the 14IL1 group, wrote her impressions of the meeting: “Today we met Linda Bunk, an exchange student from Germany. She shared her experience of travelling and learning abroad. It was easy to find a common ground, we understood each other quite well. We discussed the pressing challenges of our time, disputed with each other, expressed our viewpoints and also joked and laughed sincerely. We are very glad to have an opportunity to practise German with the native speaker as everyone knows how important it is for those who have a genuine desire to know language well.”
