There are seven Russian students at Lanzhou University, and we can be proud that five of them are master and post-graduate students from Penza (Penza State University). They are: Aleksandra Zyuzina, a five-months’ language course; Mikhail Shamionov, Yuri Stentsov, a programme of language training; Sergei Korovenkov, Daniil Fadeev, first year master students at Lanzhou University.

On December, 2, Lanzhou University (Gansu, China) hosted the festival of international students. The representatives from different countries presented their culture, language and country. The festival had two stages: introducing the national cuisine and a concert at which the students tried to demonstrate the originality of Russian culture.

“Chinese students literally devoured all the food prepared by the Russian students. Most of all they enjoyed quick pickled cucumbers with mashed potatoes and pancakes with honey and condensed milk (as there is no condensed milk in China). All the dishes were delicious”, said Sergei Korovenkov.

“The concert included the performances prepared by international students, and it was opened by the Chinese students who showed dragons. The festival produced a great amount of positive impressions. Being onstage with various peoples, you can feel a friendly atmosphere and make a lot of friends”, said Mikhail Shamionov.

“We are grateful  to Penza State University and International Cooperation Office for the opportunity to visit another country, to get education and experience, and to Lanzhou University for assistance in implementing our ideas and for welcoming international students”, emphasized the exchange students.
