PSU students undertake scientific internship in Germany

 Valeriya Bashkirova and Alina Lazuko, students from the Institute of Economics and Administration, Penza State University, are pursuing a scientific internship in Berlin University of Applied Sciences of the SRH foundation. They were awarded the Russian Federation President grant for study abroad.

Under supervision of German Professor Gerrit Tamm Valeriya Bashkirova and Alina Lazuko are conducting scientific research in strategic marketing. Moreover they attend lectures on economic disciplines. Well-known German scientists give classes in English. The students live in a flat not far from the university. In their free time they go sightseeing in Berlin.

“We have been to the Hackesche Höfe and the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, attended French Cathedral and German Church, gone to the zoo, seen the light show on one of Berlin cathedrals, visited the Tiergarten and Treptower Park. We are going to visit the neighboring cities. We have acquainted with German and foreign students. There is no doubt that it is a unique possibility to study in top HEIs in the world, gain valuable experience in communicating with foreigners, scrutinize the international approach”, the girls emphasised.  

“We thank the management of the International Cooperation Office, who organized free of charge English language classes for us. In PSU we passed the Pearson Test and received international certificates”, the grant holders said.

Additionally the girls attend the English language classes to understand English better and work with scientific literature in economics. After completing the internship they are going to pass the higher level Pearson Test at the International Students’ Exchange Centre “MIR”.

“Due to the internship programme Valeriya Bashkirova and Alina Lazuko will gain knowledge and skills in economic disciplines. It will certainly help them in their master studies at the Institute of Economics and Administration and they will become more demanded on labour market”, noted Professor Nikolai G.
