PSU student takes part in International Conference “Europe tomorrow?”11.05.2017 16:45
Oksana Zhalnina, a first-year PSU student in International Relations, visited Austria as a member of the Russian delegation. She participated in the International Conference “Europe tomorrow?”. On the first day the host party arranged the excursion to the Austrian Parliament and the meeting with its representatives for the delegates. The conference was held on the second day of the visit and it was attended by the delegations from Russia, Austria, Serbia and Sweden. The agenda for the conference addressed three predominant issues. They are enhancing security in Europe, prospects for cooperation of Russia and Europe and relations with the Balkans. The programme for the delegates was rich: they were able to enjoy local sights and attend national level events. On May 2, 2017 the delegates visited the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Austria and met with Igor S. Nikitin, the advisor to the Ambassador of the Russian Federation. He described the work of the Embassy, answered some burning questions, including that about Austria-Russia relations. “Thanks to this trip I get acquainted with talented people who do their job with pleasure and who can’t imagine their life without it. I have an opportunity to study Austrian culture, to communicate with politicians from different states and to gain invaluable experience that will prove useful in my future career,” the student emphasised.
