Delegation from Alba Iulia University (Romania) visits PSU

Penza State University hosted the delegation of six teachers and staff members of “1st of December, 1918” University (City of Alba Iulia, Romania). The visit took place within the framework of the academic mobility programme Erasmus+. The delegation comprised the teachers of the Faculty of the Exact Sciences and Engineering, the Faculty of History and Philology of the Romanian University.

I.I. Artyomov, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation, S.M.Vasin, Vice-Rector for International Affairs, Deans of the Polytechnic Institute and Faculty of History, Languages and Literature of Teacher Education Institution took part in the working meeting which took place on 25th of May.

During their visit the guests delivered lectures and took a professional development course. They negotiated on cooperation development in the sphere of science and innovation with the Faculty of Computer Engineering and the Faculty of History, Languages and Literatures. Alba Iulia University teachers went on excursions to structural units of PSU and technoparks “Rameev” and “Yablochkov”. The representatives of departments and faculties had an opportunity to get to know the partner university better and to discuss the details of further cooperation.

“Agreement on cooperation between the Universities was signed in 2014. In 2016 Erasmus+ foundation supported the academic mobility application which gave the opportunity for exchange of 17 members of staff and teachers and 8 students from each side”, said O.V. Meshcheryakova, head of International Cooperation Office, PSU.

On 1st of June the Romanian delegation took part in the events dedicated to 100th anniversary of the Botanical Garden. Professors of mathematics, statistics, computer engineering and linguists enjoyed the walk around the garden and emphasized the love and care of the staff to the garden.

“The garden is really beautiful. Your city has such a paradise where one can see care and affection, where your soul can relax. It is marvelous that everyone can enjoy the beauty of the garden, and the students have a great opportunity to study the plants”, emphasized the guests.

At the moment the cooperation is under way, the participants are getting ready to take part in other grant programmes.
