PSU enhancing cooperation with Lebanon

From 1st to 8th of July, 2017 the delegation of Penza State University visited Arts, Sciences and Technology University in Lebanon. The cooperation of 2 HEIs is expending within the framework of the Agreement of Understanding signed in May 2016.

Penza State University was represented by Sergey Ivanchin, Head of the Students Affair Department, and Makboul Adel, the 4-year-student of the Medical Institute, a representative of the Association of International Students and mentor of the Lebanese PSU students. The programme of the visit was prepared by Bashir Samaha, Adviser to the Chairman of the Association of Russian and Arab universities, Advisor of the President of the AUL for culture.

During the visit 12 meetings were held with university rectors, representatives of the Ministries of Labor and Education, directors of state hospitals, arts and culture workers, directors of civil associations, with parents of PSU students from Lebanon. At the meetings Penza State University was presented in PPPs and short films. Several Lebanese universities, hospitals and associations have expressed the intention to sign a cooperation agreement with PSU.

Arts, Sciences and Technology University offered to organize practice in English at their university for Russian students studying economics. At American University of  Culture and Education the representatives of 2 HEIs spoke on a joint Masters degree programme in economic specialties in English with issuing double diplomas. Lebanese International University suggested to conclude an agreement with PSU in the fields of students, professors and employees exchanges, practices, etc. Private hospitals in Rayak and Zahle offered to take Russian and Lebanese students on the practice together. The Association of schools of Lebanon and the Department of Lebanese Ministry of Education is ready to inform Lebanese entrants about educational programmes of the leading University of Penza region. Moreover some famous Lebanese TV presenters of the television company ALJADEED are ready to hold public lectures at the PSU and to give master classes for students studying journalism at PSU.

The key point of the visit was the meeting with the parents of Lebanese students who study at PSU. Parents were informed about achievement of their children. Questions were asked about life in Penza, about learning in English and Russian. Within the framework of the meeting a photo exhibition about the life and training of Lebanese students at PSU was organized, as well as the video was presented.
