Congress Flensburg – Penza gaining momentum

The second day of the V International Congress Flensburg – Penza was dedicated to the series of lectures that the honoured guests delivered to students in Penza State University.

The meetings were arranged in Polytechnic Institute and Belinsky Institute of Teacher Education, as well as in Medical Institute.

Ellen von Zitzewitz, counsellor of the Embassy of Germany in Russian Federation, presented her lecture on “The topical issues in environmental protection and energy conservation policy in Germany” to students of Polytechnic Institute. They demonstrated considerable interest in the topic of discussion, asked questions regarding geopolitics, energetics and global warming, waste-to-fuel recycling, and renewable energy sources.

“At present we are noting real innovative projects in Russia that are of interest for Germany, for example, in Yakutsk, Leningrad oblast, – Ellen von Zitzewitz emphasised. – If Penza launches such projects, it will be possible to invite German specialists who will assess their feasibility and assist in their implementation. There is no doubt that the development of Russia is advancing. But we shouldn’t forget that science originates in the universities, the young generation needs to study the best international practices in science advancement”.

The yesterday plenary session resulted in the decision on launching the joint project on energy conservation for students. As Ellen von Zitzewitz has stressed, it is planned that this project will receive financial support from Germany.

German Professor Gunter Rinke gave a lecture on “Existential approach and novelistic form: masterpiece “Master and Man” by Leo Tolstoy” to the students of the Faculty of History, Languages and Literature in Belinsky Institute of Teacher Education. The professor vividly presented the views of German language and literature specialists on this piece of work in Russian classical literature”.

The VI International Scientific Conference “Topical issues in Medical Sciences and Education” opened in PSU Medical Institute. The representatives of DIAKO clinics (Flensburg, Germany) also took part in this conference. German and Russian doctors gave detailed presentations about modern trends in plastic surgery and in treatment of cardiovascular diseases and psychic disturbances. The lectures on introducing biomaterials in clinical practice of treating diseases of oral cavity attracted significant interest among students and academics.
