PSU students pursue internship at SRH Hochschule Berlin

Penza State University students are interning at SRH Hochschule Berlin (Germany). It is the University of Applied Sciences which is part of SRH Holding.

Sergey Slepovichev, Master’s degree student at the Faculty of Computer Engineering, Ilya Pronyakin and Yuliya Bulycheva, Bachelor’s degree students at the Faculty of Economics and Administration, were awarded the Russian Federation President grant for study abroad.

The scientific advisors at PSU are Professor Yury Kosnikov, Doctor of Engineering Science, and Associate Professor Galina Bobrysheva, Candidate of Engineering Science, Associate Professor Andrey Tuskov, Candidate of Economics, Associate Professor Denis Samygin, Candidate of Economics, correspondingly.

Under the supervision of German Professors Gerrit Tamm and Vladimir Stantchev, PSU students are conducting research in the sphere of smart electricity grids. Sergey Slepovichev, Ilya Pronyakin and Yuliya Bulycheva also attend lectures on information technology, fundamental mathematics and English language courses. Lectures are given in English by prominent German scientists.

The students live in Neukolln that is the picturesque district in Berlin. In their free time the scholarship holders go sightseeing and visit interesting places around the city.

“We have been in Alexanderplatz, Potsdamer Platz, enjoyed the night view of Berlin from the Reichstag, visited the well-known house No. 9 on Unter Den Rustern Street, and got inside the royal palace of Frederick the Great – Sanssouci in Potsdam. We are planning to travel to neighboring cities, especially we want to visit Dresden, Munich and Hamburg. During the internship we have met many students and just wonderful people from Germany, Ukraine, Mongolia, Russia, Iran, Turkey, Italy and Canada. We have gained invaluable experience of communicating with representatives of other countries, got acquainted with the traditions of a multicultural society. No words can sufficiently express all our impressions,” the students write.

“Thanks to the leadership of the Institute for International Cooperation who organised our English classes, we passed exams and received international certificates for the Pearson test from London at PSU MIR Centre,” the students emphasised.

Following the internship Sergey Slepovichev, Ilya Pronyakin and Yuliya Bulycheva plan to defend their Master’s or Bachelor’s theses, as well as to pass the higher-level Pearson Test at PSU and get the international certificates.

Owning to the internship programme, the students will acquire knowledge and obtain marketable skills. It goes without saying that this will make them more employable.
