GreenMetric World University Ranking: PSU named among the greenest universities

Penza State University entered the world ranking of the universities seeking to contribute to the improved environment and ecological security by means of integrating the advances in science and technology and the strategy of campus energy efficiency, ecosystem of the city, region and country.

PSU was ranked 467th. The number of HEIs participated in the ranking has increased from 516 to 619 universities from around the world, which reflects the global nature of GreenMetric Ranking.

The World University Ranking has been published since 2010. The initiative of its developers is aimed at focusing greater attention of academic community to addressing environmental issues. The universities from all over the world were assessed against six criteria. They include “Setting and infrastructure”, “Energy and climate change”, “Waste”, “Water”, “Transportation” and “Education”.

It should be noted that Penza State University was listed in GreenMetric Ranking along with such high-profile HEIs as the University of California, Davis (the USA), the University of Nottingham (the UK), the University of Bologna (Italy), the University of Melbourne (Australia), and Wageningen University (the Netherlands).
