International scientific and practical conference of ENTEP project partners in Kazan

The Conference “Exploring cross-border collaborations in higher education institutions: Teaching and learning” was held at Kazan Federal University (KFU) on 16 – 17 October 2018. The welcoming addresses were delivered by Prof. Dr. Holger Kuße, ENTEP coordinator, Riyaz Minzaripov, KFU First Vice-Rector, Vadim Kozlov, Director of KFU Institute of Pedagogy, Psychology and Social Problems, and other senior educational officials.

The agenda of the conference was saturated with various activities. The first day included the plenary session, which was devoted to teaching and learning practices and teacher education. The lectures were presented by Russian and foreign experts from partner-institutions, e.g. Ural State University of Economics, Liverpool John Moores University, the University of Hildesheim, the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra, and other organisations.

On the second day, the discussions were held in two groups. The English-speaking group focused on innovative EU countries and Chinese experience in professional development of university teachers in the context of the concept of lifelong learning. PSU staff made their reports within the Russian-speaking group, which reviewed psychological and pedagogical training and improving the level of professional culture of the university staff in the context of the concept of lifelong learning.

Tatyana Glotova, Associate Professor of the Department of Computer Aided Design Systems, and Konstantin Korolev, Head of the International Projects Department, spoke on “Integration of information and educational technologies in teaching practice in higher education”.

Tatyana Razuvaeva, Head of the Language and Examination Centre, and Sergei Vasin, Vice-Rector for International Affairs, reported on “Project methods of teaching in Russian higher education”.

Olga Vasina, Associate Professor of the Department of General Biology and Biochemistry, and Olga Ponomareva, Assistant to Vice-Rector, made a speech on “Didactic support of ecological training in higher education institutions”.

In addition, PSU staff participated in the Coordinators meeting for the designated representatives of partner-institutions within the project.
