On August 16, the Festival of Orthodox Culture "Penza Savior" took place on Cathedral Square. It traditionally unites three Saviors - Honey, Apple and Nut, and combines both church and folk traditions. As part of the event, PSU international students visited a fair of local manufacturers, got acquainted with handicrafts, national dishes of Russian cuisine. Everyone could take part in various workshops, take pictures in the photo zones. “Festivals of folk traditions are of great interest to international students! Russian holidays are very kind, bright, cheerful, reflecting the centuries-old culture. Such immersion into customs allows them not only to get to know the Russian heritage better, but also to learn the language, which undoubtedly contributes to quick adaptation in the new socio-cultural environment!” said Adel Makbol, Chairman of the International Students Association of the Penza region. The highlight of the holiday was a huge 14-meter Spassky pie. In addition to their own products, delegations from all 27 districts of the Penza region presented a concert programme - a large stage was installed near the Spassky Cathedral. The pop-folk group "Zemlyaki" from the city of Saransk became a special guest of the holiday. Фотографии (3)
