Innovation clusters as ecosystems are actively being created all over the world. Merete Daniel Nielsen, TCI Network President, Co-Founder and Vice President of Cluster Excellence Denmark, noted that Russia has huge untapped potential in terms of cluster development. Many clusters today make a significant contribution to solving global problems, including sustainable economic development. The cases of Denmark and Germany in the field of circular economy and the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals were presented. At the event, the successful experience of public joint-stock company TATNEFT in introducing the principles of a circular economy into the business model was noted. The representative of the company emphasized the importance of introducing young people to rational consumption, respect for the environment and the introduction of new approaches to implementing environmental projects.

“The Penza region has been implementing an active policy of creating and developing clusters for a long time. The conclusions and recommendations voiced at the event are of significant research and practical interest from the point of view of their use in the context of managing sustainable innovative development of our region based on cluster and ecosystem approaches,” said Leila Gamidullaeva.
