PSU is planning to expand areas of cooperation with educational institutions of the Republic of Belarus

On Thursday, March 11, 2021, the PSU delegation, represented by Aleksandr Fionov, Rector’s assistant, Gleb Sintsov, Vice-Rector for International Affairs, and Vitaly Solovyev, secretary of the Admissions Committee, visited the department of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Russian Federation in Nizhny Novgorod, where they were greeted by Vladimir Voronkovich, Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary of the 1st class, Head of the Department and senior adviser.

The purpose of the meeting was negotiations on activating the existing contacts between PSU and educational institutions of the Republic of Belarus and possible new areas of bilateral cooperation in terms of scientific research, academic exchange of staff and students, joint participation in international educational programmes and projects. The key issue of the meeting was the discussion of mechanisms for attracting applicants from the Republic of Belarus for training in educational programmes of higher education at Penza State University.

“During the negotiations, the prospective strategy for the development of partnership between the largest university of the Penza region and Belarusian educational institutions was considered. We saw Vladimirov Voronkovich’s keen interest in our proposals and willingness to work productively. The negotiations were successful,” says G. Sintsov.

As a result of the negotiations, the PSU project group began to prepare a package of documents regulating further stages of cooperation development in these areas.
