On the eve of celebrating the International Youth Day, a round table on the topic "Development of international youth cooperation in the Penza region" was held at the Youth House. The round table was attended by representatives of the International Students Association of the Penza Region and public youth associations. The honorary guests of the event were Sergey Zinoviev, Director of the Multifunctional Youth Center of the Penza Region, Sergey Ivanchin, Head of the International Education Office, Institute of International Cooperation, PSU, Adel Maqbol, Chairman of the International Students Association of the Penza Region. “The venues of the Youth House are popular among young people of the Penza region, including international students. I hope that this round table will help Penza public associations to share their international projects and outline new guidelines which will involve international students”, said Sergey Zinoviev at the opening of the round table. “It should be noted that PSU international students are integrated into the youth community of the Penza region due to the comprehensive efforts made at PSU, which include adaptation, migration, educational and social aspects, and due to the participation of our international students in various city, regional, federal and international events”, said Sergey Ivanchin. “I congratulate the youth of Russia and students from different countries of Penza universities on the International Youth Day! I wish you good health, good studies and unique joint projects. We would like to thank the Youth House for this opportunity and for invitations to your events. It is very useful for the socialization of international students”, congratulated Adel Maqbol. The participants discussed the development of international youth cooperation in the Penza region, an impetus to which was given by the agreements on cooperation and interaction signed in 2018 between the International Students Association of the Penza Region and the Youth Union of the Penza Region, Russian student teams and the Youth Parliament under the Legislative Assembly of the Penza Region. The international students remembered participating in the XIX World Festival of Youth and Students in Sochi, the International Festival of Youth and Students "Lastochka" in Penza, the regional forum "Surskie lastochki", spoke about their significant projects, including the Volga region educational camp for international students "POLIS", beauty contest among international students "Miss World. Folk Queen”, interactive educational meetings at schools “Lessons of Friendship”. As a result of the round table, it was decided to strengthen joint work on the development of international volunteer projects. International Youth Day is celebrated annually on 12 August. The holiday was established by the UN General Assembly on December 17, 1999 at the suggestion of the World Conference of Ministers for Youth Affairs, held in Lisbon (Portugal) on August 8-12, 1998. The day is intended to remind about the role of young people in developing and building peace and the everyday problems that stand in their way. |
