The project by a PSU student will help to provide the University gyms with "green energy"12.01.2022 09:16
It is not the first time that Penza State University, together with the University of Applied Sciences (Flensburg, Germany), with the financial support of the Federal Foreign Office, within the framework of VIII Penza-Flensburg Congress, has held the Green Campus - Green City scientific contest of environmental projects. Students of the Department of Power Engineering and Electrical Engineering are its annual participants. In 2021, as a result of the final selection, the project by Kristina Stepanova, a student of the academic group 18ME1 under the guidance of Tatyana Brostilova, Candidate of Engineering Sciences, Associate Professor, received 2000 euros for implementing the project. The jury members noted the innovative aspect of the project idea, good scientific substantiation of the project and reasoning of the concept, which will make a significant contribution to promoting environmental technologies at PSU and in the city of Penza. The project "Gym power supply system with energy-saving exercise equipment" is dedicated to the urgent problem of finding alternative energy sources that meet environmental requirements. It is planned to introduce "green energy" into the daily life of the University, especially since there are several gyms in the University. The main idea of the project is to use the energy generated by athletes in the gym for the needs of the gym itself. “When athletes are doing sports, they use exercise equipment for different muscle groups with different movable parts, and if you hang devices on these movable mechanisms and “take” this energy, you can accumulate it in a battery and then spend this energy, say, on the light supply, for example. And if the gym is popular, then, accordingly, the number of athletes and the amount of stored energy increases,” explains the author Kristina Stepanova. The project presents methods of converting energy to connect a "working load" of low power. In the course of the research, it is planned to reconstruct the power supply system of PSU sports complex by introducing elements of "green" energy, as well as using renewable energy sources. In addition, the project is aimed at attracting young people to sports and a healthy lifestyle, at improving the health of the population, as well as at improving the physical and mental health of students. At the moment, the project is in the process of implementation. |
