Linguists from PSU and the Transylvanian University (Romania) continue their joint project

On January 18, III International Student Research Webinar in Language and Culture took place.

The webinar was organized within the framework of international cooperation between the English Language Department of Penza State University and the Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics of the Transylvanian University in Braşov (Romania). The organizers of the already traditional event were Tatiana Dubrovskaya, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor, Head of the English Language Department, and Raluka Sinu, PhD, Associate Professor of the Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics of the Transylvanian University.

The event gave an opportunity for master’s degree students, post-graduate students and teachers to present the results of their scientific research. The event included six presentations. Reports from the Penza State University were presented by N.Yu. Vidineeva, a teacher, E.I. Kozhevnikova, a third-year post-graduate student, and E.I. Yuskaeva, a second-year post-graduate student. N.S. Dankova, Candidate of Philological Sciences, associate professor at the English Language Department, and O.S. Voyachek, a senior lecturer, a second-year post-graduate student, also took part in the discussion.

In 2022, the geography of the webinar expanded due to the participation of researchers from the South Ural State University (Chelyabinsk): N.N. Koshkarova, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor, and V. Kiryukhina, a first-year post-graduate student.

The participants’ reports were presented in English and were devoted to the forms and methods of using the language in various areas of communication: politics, mass media, social networks, translation. The organizers emphasized a high level of research and the need to continue the project.
