On May 15, at the Chistye Prudy sports complex, the ceremony of awarding the PSU Students of the Year took place. By tradition, the nomination "Best International Student" was the most international.

In 2022, six students of Penza State University from six countries of the world fought for the title of the winner: Murun Ganbaatar (Mongolia), Puvar Labdikhumar (India), Atabek Ybykeev (Kyrgyzstan), Yakhi Linda (Algeria), Aliazgar Zikrov (Tajikistan) and Hong Ye (China). The participants took a test in the Russian language, spoke to schoolchildren of the city as part of the interactive educational project "Lessons of Friendship". In addition, the organizing committee of the award assessed the educational and social activities of the students. The final task was writing and defending projects in front of an expert committee, which included: Gleb Sintsov, Vice-Rector for International Affairs, Sergey Ivanchin, Head of the International Education Office, and Adel Maqbol, Chairman of the International Students Association of the Penza Region.

According to the results of all the tests, Murun Ganbaatar, a fourth-year student of the Medical Institute from Mongolia, became the holder of the title "Best International Student of the Year".

“This is the second time I have taken part in the contest and I am absolutely delighted that I managed to win this year! For me, the title of "Best International Student" means a lot: all my active work at the university is appreciated! I am grateful to PSU for this opportunity to become not just a specialist in the chosen profession, but also a well-formed personality with an active civic position and tremendous experience,” Murun emphasized.
