ProEU project: First training course held for PSU students

At the Centre for Teaching and Learning Erasmus+, the training course was organised for PSU students of the Institute of Economics and Administration within the ProEU project (Protection of Human Rights within and across the European Union) supported under the Erasmus+ Programme. All stages of the 8-hour course were held in the presence mode.

During the training course, the ProEU project team familiarised PSU non-law students (Management: Corporate Management) with the features of monitoring and protecting human rights in the European Union and the Russian Federation.

The project manager Gleb Sintsov, Doctor in Legal Sciences, Vice-Rector for International Affairs, Professor of the Department of Private and Public Law, introduced the participants of the training course to the major human rights institutions in the European Union and the Russian Federation. Moreover, the students discussed the human rights policies in various states.

The participants of the training course explored the most significant European and Russian human rights instruments and initiatives together with Danil Feoktistov, PhD in Legal Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Private and Public Law. In addition, the students were able to share their views on enhancing the efficiency of introduced human rights initiatives.

Using the examples of the federal states (the Republic of Austria, the Kingdom of Belgium, the Federal Republic of Germany and the Russian Federation), Evgenii Bitiutskii, PhD in Legal Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Law Enforcement, presented the differences between European and Russian insight into federalism. The focus was made on the issues of monitoring and protecting human rights in the federal states.

The students shared their impressions about the training course: “The course was structured in line with information load and presentation interest”; “I liked considering the case tasks and life situations”; “I got desire to drill into this topic”; “It was interesting and informative”. The participants suggested using more visuals, however they were satisfied with the implementation of the course.

The training course “Challenges in monitoring and protecting human rights in the European Union and the Russian Federation” ended with the certificates ceremony and joint photo of the participants.
