PSU continues cooperation with Gannan Normal University (China) in the field of music education

On June 8, 2022, a graduation ceremony for students from Gannan Normal University, studying under the double degree programme “Music” in the study field "Pedagogical education", was held online.

Penza State University has been implementing joint educational projects with Chinese partners in the field of music education for several years. This work resulted in developing and launching a double-degree educational programme, which envisages two diplomas.

Gleb Sintsov, Vice-Rector for International Affairs of PSU, Sergey Vasin, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation of PSU, and Olga Surina, Director of the Institute of Teacher Education, addressed the Chinese students with a welcoming word. The participants of the online meeting and students were also greeted by Zhu Xiaoli, Rector of Gannan Normal University, and Wu Junhua, Director of the Institute of Music of Gannan Normal University.

Gleb Sintsov, Vice-Rector for International Affairs of PSU, noted that Gannan Normal University is a reliable partner of Penza State University and thanked the university administration for their support in implementing joint projects, and teachers for their high professionalism and willingness to overcome the difficulties that arose during the coronavirus pandemic.

Zhu Xiaoli, Rector of Gannan Normal University, emphasized the importance of implementing joint projects in the field of music education between the universities, as this allows students to receive high-quality knowledge and acquire high-level professional competences. They also contribute to strengthening cooperation between China and Russia in the field of education.

The response speech was also made by students who thanked the teachers and promised not to forget their Alma Mater. Some students decided to continue their studies at Penza State University and take the master’s degree course.
