More than 400 international students of Penza State University from India celebrated the Navaratri holiday as part of the “Cultural Marathon “Around the World in Two Semesters” festival. The event was held at the Center for Sports and Youth Initiatives.

Holding national festivals of students studying at PSU is one of the ways for successful socialization of international citizens to a new environment for them. Gleb Sintsov, Vice-Rector for International Affairs, spoke about this. “Currently, over 2,500 international students are studying at PSU, and it is important not only to provide a quality education to each of them, but also to help the young people have a bright, useful and unforgettable experience. We respect the cultural traditions of representatives of each country and nation and always assist the students in holding and organizing national festivals. And Navaratri is no exception,” emphasized Professor Sintsov.

Navaratri is a festival of Indian culture, which is celebrated twice a year - in spring and autumn - for nine days. “This is a very sincere and kind holiday. It brings justice, the victory of good over evil and spiritual peace. That is why, despite different religions and views, it is celebrated beyond India all over the planet,” a student from India, Parmar Saloniben Rajubhai, shared her ideas.

Rohit Patil Pradiprao, a representative of the Chevalier Group, expressed his gratitude to the administration of the university and the Institute of International Cooperation: “We are grateful to Rector of the University Aleksandr Guliakov and the Institute of International Cooperation represented by director Gleb Sintsov for their help in organizing and holding national festivals for students from India and their comprehensive support of our students".

Diwali, the Indian New Year, is another important holiday for students from India. Festive events dedicated to the festival of lights will be held in November.
