International students from Penza State University are active not only in educational, scientific, sports and creative activities. Every year, on the eve of the New Year holidays, representatives from all over the world who study at our university come up with a charitable initiative - they organize a holiday for the pupils of the Regional Social and Rehabilitation Center for Children and Young Disabled People (Kichkileika village) and the Neverkino boarding school (Neverkino village). Students emphasize that it is especially important to create a holiday atmosphere for the children: “We have collected sweet gifts, stationery, board games for children of different ages - everything to make the children smile and feel the approach of the new year!”.

On Saturday, December 24, international students visited Kichkleika. Father Frost and the Snow Maiden gave the pupils of the rehabilitation center a good mood. But the students did not manage to visit the boarding school in the village of Neverkino in person: in 2022, like last year, the students remotely congratulated the children on the holiday.

“The charity event has been going on since 2016. Unfortunately, since the pandemic, we have not come to the children in the village of Neverkino with a concert program, as it was before, but every December we were sure to give them gifts and the warmest words of congratulations! I hope that next year we will be able to return to the old format of the event and please the children with games, workshops and creative performances from international students,” said Adel Maqbol, Chairman of the International Students Association of the Penza Region.
