Students of the pre-university training department of the Institute of International Cooperation of Penza State University continue their training for entering PSU and other universities in order to get higher education. This time, international students learned about the diversity of the animal world of Russia.

As part of the study of general scientific disciplines at the pre-university training department of the Institute of International Cooperation, an excursion to the Zoological Museum of PSU was organized for students of groups 22ПО3 and 22ПО4 who major in medicine and biology.

The students got acquainted with the diversity of the animal world of Russia. The museum staff spoke in detail about its main representatives, their external features and habitats.

“In the first semester, students of the pre-university training department actively study the Russian language and immerse themselves in the culture of the Russian language. And in the second semester, they begin studying specialized subjects. These are, for example, biology, chemistry and physics for biomedical groups. And to update the acquired knowledge, teachers regularly organize various events: visits to museums, cultural sites, schools in the city of Penza, and so on,” emphasized Gleb Sintsov, PSU Vice-Rector for International Affairs.

The main function of the pre-university training department is to prepare international students from near and far abroad countries for admission to PSU and other universities for higher education.

At the pre-university training department, international students study the Russian language and subjects according to their chosen study field: mathematics, chemistry, physics, biology, economics, regional studies and others. Particular attention is paid to the study of the scientific style of speech as the basis of the professional communication.
