Every year on May 9, the International Students Association of the Penza Region organizes a memorial event “Thank you for peaceful skies!”

Traditionally, the students lay flowers at the Eternal Flame at the Monument of Military and Labor Glory on Victory Square, paying tribute to the Great Patriotic War heroes. In 2023, it was attended by representatives of different nationalities from such countries as Kyrgyzstan, Egypt, Yemen, India, Morocco, and Uzbekistan.

Gleb Sintsov, Vice-Rector for International Affairs, noted that this event plays an important role in the process of spiritual education of the individual: "Victory Day is indeed a holiday with tears in our eyes. A day that unites representatives of different peoples of the world. And the participation of international students studying in Penza in the event "Thank you, veterans" confirms this.
