The delegation of the People’s Republic of China paid an official visit to Penza State University. A working meeting between PSU Rector Aleksandr Guliakov and head of Beijing Bridge Cultural Exchange Co. Wang Tao took place on 17 May 2023.

During the round table discussion, the parties considered the development of the Russian-Chinese partnership in the educational area.

Nowadays, 239 students from the People’s Republic of China study at Penza State University, most of them are completing the educational programme “Music” at V.G. Belinsky Institute of Teacher Education.

“Our countries enjoy a profound tradition of friendship,” emphasized Aleksandr Guliakov. PSU rector also noted that effective interaction is being built between the Russian and Chinese universities.

The initiative to expand the range of educational programmes voiced by Aleksandr Guliakov was supported by Wang Tao. The Ministry of Education of China has approved 112 joint educational programmes between the universities in the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China. Among them are the programmes “Music” and “Music Art and Education”, which are implemented by Penza State University in partnership with Lianyungang Normal College and Gannan Normal University.

“We are interested in having other joint educational programmes among Penza State University and universities and colleges of the People's Republic of China. We will contribute to promoting our partnership,” stated Wang Tao.

The participants of the working meeting discussed launching new joint educational programmes in the area of fine arts, sports and physical training, engineering sciences, as well as economics and management.

The presentations were delivered by Vice-Rector for International Affairs Gleb Sintsov, Director of V.G. Belinsky Institute of Teacher Education Olga Surina, Director of Institute of Sport and Physical Training Elena Dvorianinova, Director of Institute of Economics and Administration Viktor Volodin, Head of the Department of Economic Theory and International Relations Lilia Rozhkova and Head of the Department of Marketing, Commerce and Service Leila Gamidullaeva.

The visit of the Chinese delegation to PSU will last for two days.
