Penza State University is actively developing cooperation with Chinese partners

On June 8, 2023, the Institute of Teacher Education held an online meeting with the leadership, teachers and students of Lianyungang Normal College (China). An agreement to hold this meeting was reached when a delegation from the Beijing Bridge Cultural Exchange company - Wang Tao, Director of the company, and Wu Yajing, manager of the International Educational Program Department -  visited Penza State University.

Penza State University was represented by Gleb Sintsov, Vice-Rector for International Affairs, Olga Surina, Director of the Institute of Teacher Education, Elena Dvoryaninova, Director of the Institute of Sport and Physical Training, Aleksandr Tugarov, Dean of the Faculty of Pedagogy, Psychology and Social Sciences, Tatiana Shipilkina, Head of the Department of Music and Methods of Teaching Music, Tatiana Razuvaeva, Head of International Projects Department, Kirill Plotnikov, Head of the Department of Foreign Student Accommodation, as well as  PSU Chinese students Li Shutian, Xiao Qingxin and Chen Qinghao.

Lianyungang Normal College was represented by Wang Busin, Vice-Rector for International Affairs, Liu Juan, Director of the Institute of Preschool Education (Institute of Music), Mi Yanqing, Director of the Institute of International Education, Fang Qiang, Director of the Institute of Physical Education, Zhao Yijun, Deputy Director of the Institute of Preschool Education, Liu Ming, Head of the Department of Music, Qi Xifeng, Head of the Cultural and Art Center, teachers Xu Zixuan, Bo Wenyu, as well as college students.

In addition, the meeting was also attended by the partners of Penza State University - Wang Tao, Director of the Beijing Bridge Cultural Exchange company, and Wu Yajing, manager of the International Educational Programme Department.

Gleb Sintsov, PSU Vice-Rector for International Affairs, addressed the meeting participants with a welcoming speech:
“A new stage in the development of cooperation between PSU and Chinese educational organizations has been the implementation of joint educational projects and programmes with Chinese universities and colleges. One of the successfully implemented projects with Wang Tao’s coordination support is the admission of Lianyungang Normal College graduates to study at Penza State University. The Chinese College graduates enter the Pre-University Training Department to study the Russian language, and then they take teacher education bachelor's degree programmes in music and physical education. And we hope that this project will be successfully implemented in the future.”

Wang Busin, Vice-Rector for International Affairs of Lianyungang Normal College, emphasized the important role of strengthening and further joint cooperation in teaching Chinese students at Penza State University. In his greeting, he noted that the first graduates of Lianyungang Normal College entered the Pre-University Training Department of PSU in 2017, and since 2018 they have been taking the bachelor's programme "Pedagogical Education" in "Music".

Olga Surina, Director of the Institute of Teacher Education, told the participants of the meeting about the training of students from Lianyungang Normal College at the Department of Music and Methods of Teaching Music, about the educational and cultural work with students carried out by the department, about their successes and achievements in concert and scientific activities.

Tatiana Razuvaeva, Head of International Projects Department of the Institute of International Cooperation, spoke about organizational issues related to accommodation, medical care, social adaptation of international students and their transfer from Moscow to Penza.

Elena Dvoryaninova, Director of the Institute of Sport and Physical Training, spoke about educational programmes implemented at the Institute, as well as about the sports success of the Institute's students.

Students of the Faculty of Pedagogy, Psychology and Social Sciences of the Institute of Teacher Education, Xu Zixuan and Bo Wenyu spoke about how they are studying at the university, and also answered questions from students of Lianyungang Normal College.

The meeting ended with words of gratitude for the ongoing joint work, both sides expressed confidence in further successful development of cooperation between Penza State University and Lianyungang Normal College.
