On May 31, S.M. Kirov Center for Culture and Leisure hosted the ceremony of "Students of the Year" - 2023 Award. Traditionally, the most international was the nomination "The Best International Student".

In 2023, 11 students of Penza State University from 6 countries of the world fought for the title of the winner: Puvar Labdikhumar (India), Hong Ye (China), Patil Yash Manoj (India), Shetty Twinkle Gunakar (India), Malek Bafi Romany Shahed (Egypt), Mamatkulov Javokhir Oybekovich (Kyrgyzstan), Nurgazy kyzy Kanykei (Kyrgyzstan), Abdumanapov Mamatmyrza Mamatazizovich (Kyrgyzstan), Abdumanazidova Parizoda Akmalovna (Uzbekistan), Davlatov Khusravjon Bahrulloevich (Tajikistan), Mustarzak Khafsa (Morocco). The participants took a test in the Russian language, spoke to schoolchildren of the city as part of the interactive educational project "Lessons of Friendship". In addition, the organizing committee of the award assessed the educational and social activities of the students. The final test was to write and to defend projects in front of an expert commission, which included: Sergey Ivanchin, Head of the International Education Office, Olga Meshcheryakova , Head of the International Relations Office, Daria Kulakova, Chairman of the PSU Students’ Council.

According to the results of all the tests, Parizoda Abdumazhidova, a 2nd year student of the Faculty of History, Languages and Literature from Uzbekistan, became the holder of the title "Best International Student of the Year". “For me, the title of “Best International Student” means a lot - all my active work at the university is appreciated! I thank PSU for such an opportunity to become not just a specialist in the chosen profession, but also a well-formed personality with an active civic position and tremendous experience,” Parizoda emphasized.

Also, within the framework of the PSU Award, Nurgazy kyzy Kanykey (Kyrgyzstan) was given an award "For Contribution to the development of PSU student community".
