Dental students from Arab countries were awarded certificates of higher education
On August 29, a ceremony of awarding certificates of higher medical education to PSU dental students from Arab countries was held at Penza State University. 31 graduates from Egypt, Lebanon and Syria received certificates, including two students who got diplomas with distinction. All students studied at the Faculty of Dentistry of the Medical Institute for five years using an intermediary language.
The event was attended by special guests: Gleb Sintsov, Vice-Rector for International Affairs of PSU, Larisa Ziulkina, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Sergey Ivanchin, Head of the International Education Office, Makbol Adel Ali Omar, Chairman of the International Students Association of Penza Region, and parents of the graduates.
In his welcoming speech, Gleb Sintsov noted the significance of the moment and wished the graduates success:
"Today you, yesterday's students, will receive not just one of the most important documents in your life, but also the proud title of doctor. These five years have been filled with joy, achievements and, of course, new knowledge and experience. May this be just the beginning of your long and successful life journey".
In the 2022/2023 academic year, PSU trained more than 2,500 international students from 47 countries, among them almost 700 from Arab countries. This will be the third graduation of Arab dental students - the first one took place in 2021. At that time, 40 specialists from Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Sudan and Lebanon received the certificates of higher medical education.
