A delegation from Penza State University visits Morocco
A delegation from Penza State University, headed by the executive secretary of the admissions committee, Vitaly Solovyov, visited Morocco. The delegation also included: Sergei Ivanchin, Head of the the International Education Office, Adele Maqbol, Chairman of the International Students Association.
“PSU’s international activities in Morocco are a new and promising direction in North African countries. We are faced with the task of quantitatively and qualitatively increasing the number of Moroccan students for various educational programmes, developing cooperation with Moroccan universities,” commented Gleb Sintsov, Vice-Rector for International Activities at PSU.
As part of the visit, entrance tests were organized for Moroccan applicants in three cities: Marrakech, Agadir and Rabat.
In the city of Rabat, Tatu Mehdi, a Moroccan graduate of the Faculty of Dentistry of PSU 2021, spoke to applicants. He spoke warmly about his years of study at PSU, about his work at a dental clinic in the city of Fes, praised the applicants for the right choice to study at PSU and wished them success in their studies.
A visit to the International Polytechnic University of Agadir “Universiapolis” took place. A working meeting was held there with the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Science, Dean of the Polytechnic Faculty Ilias Majdouline and Salim Buslikhan, Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Health Technologies. Representatives of PSU presented Penza State University and the areas of training that are implemented at our university. Moroccan colleagues expressed their intention to cooperate with PSU on the academic exchange of students and teachers.
“This year, our university started enrollment in the Informatics and Computer Engineering training programme (in English) and recruited the first group of Moroccan students,” noted Vitaly Solovyov.
The delegation also visited a new private medical university UPSSA. Moroccan colleagues said that the university received a license for educational activities in July of this year and has already successfully organized the first admission of 350 applicants to the General Medicine and Pharmacy programmes. We discussed the possibilities of joint practice for Moroccan medical students at PSU, academic exchange of students and teachers.
“It should be noted that at the moment there are more than 50 Moroccan students studying at PSU, and based on the results of the work of the admissions committee, another 150 people were recruited for various areas of training. Thus, the total number of Moroccan students is more than 200 people,” noted Sergei Ivanchin, Head of the International Education Office.At the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in the city of Agadir, the PSU delegation was received by Natalya Bohu, Chairman of the Coordination Council of Organizations of Russian Compatriots in Morocco, Assistant to the Consul General. Natalya Bohu said that the organization’s activities are aimed at preserving and supporting the Russian language among the children of compatriots, preserving history and traditions, and introducing Moroccans to Russian culture. She noted that our compatriots want their children to study at Russian universities. We agreed to hold an online conference with parents in February and present PSU and talk about the admission rules for the 2024/2025 academic year.
