Sergey Ivanchin, Head of the International Education Office of Penza State University, held the first meeting with monitors of more than 80 international educational groups studying in English in the study fields “General Medicine”, “Dentistry”, “Pharmacy”. The event was also attended by Aleksandr Pervushkin, Head of the Department of Academic Affairs, department specialists, and Adel Maqbol, Chairman of the International Students Association. “The council of monitors, traditional in Russia, but practically not used in other countries, is an important tool in organizing the educational process. The university management fully supports the social work of international students - monitors and rewards the best of them at the end of the academic year,” commented Gleb Sintsov, Vice-Rector for International Affairs at PSU. At the beginning of the meeting, Sergey Ivanchin told international students about the important social task of the monitors, responsible implementation of which makes it possible to enhance the academic performance of the group and to maintain direct contact with the staff of the Department of Academic Affairs (International Education Office). The new academic year for international students begins on November 1. The attention of international students was drawn to attendance and discipline in classes, which affects further successful completion of the examination session. Aleksandr Pervushkin outlined the structure of the council of monitors and the need to keep records of student achievements and violations in the academic group, and also discussed issues of organizing the educational process and reporting. |
