On Friday, November 17, the IX beauty contest among PSU international students “Miss World. Folk Queen - 2023” was held at Penza State University. It was dedicated to International Students’ Day. The contest was organized by the Department of Student Affairs, International Education Office, PSU.

In 2023, 9 participants from 8 countries of the world competed for the victory: India, Sudan, China, Zambia, Belarus, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. The girls had to pass several preliminary tests - talk about their country as part of the intellectual stage “Lessons of Friendship” and take part in a photo shoot and demonstrate their fashion show skills and talents at the final show.

The theme of this year's contest is “Art Comes to Life.” “We turned to the work of the great artists of the participating countries and each of the girls “revitalized” this image, embodying it first in a photo shoot and then on stage. The traditional final tests were the mixed performance “Dance of the World”, creative business cards and a fashion show in evening dresses,” note the organizers of the event.

Gleb Sintsov, Vice-Rector for International Affairs, noted that the event was successful: “Today each of you showed what you are capable of! The contest has taken place, and it has become a real celebration of beauty and creativity!”
