PSU international students become winners and prize-winners of the International Vocal Competition

On Saturday and Sunday, April 6 and 7, the Center for Choreographic Art in Penza held the International Vocal Competition “Crystal April - 2024”, which is held under the patronage of the International Union of Music Workers and the City Department of Culture. According to established tradition, this year international students of Penza State University from India, Sudan, Indonesia and Armenia competed for victory in the nominations (headed by Maria Melnikova).

The performances of the participants were evaluated by a highly professional jury, which included prominent cultural and artistic figures: a teacher at the Institute of Arts of Saratov Chernyshevsky State University, member of the Federation of Vocal Arts Teachers of the Russian Federation Oksana Bogacheva; senior lecturer of the Department of Music and Methods of Teaching Music at PSU Elena Guliaeva; Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation, teacher at the Penza College of Arts Elena Pykova; senior lecturer of the Department of Performing Arts of the Russian State University of Social Sciences, Honored Artist of the Republic of Mordovia Tatyana Lomakina; Honored cultural worker of the Penza region, chairman of the Penza regional branch of the International Union of Musical Workers Svetlana Turomshina.

This year the students presented 9 vocal performances to the jury. As a result of the competition, all international students became laureates and diploma winners.
