Rector Aleksandr Guliakov and Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vocational and Technical College of Guangdong Province (PRC) Liu Kerong signed a cooperation agreement.

The meeting with the leadership of Penza State University took place during the visit of the official Chinese delegation on Tuesday, September 10.

Aleksandr Guliakov expressed interest in developing cooperation with the college. "Our countries have a long-standing fruitful friendship. We are interested in the Vocational and Technical College as a partner. About 25 thousand students who are studying with you are the young people who can enter Penza State University to receive higher education in the future," commented PSU rector.

Gleb Sintsov, Vice-Rector for International Affairs, told the representatives of China about Penza State University, where more than 21,000 students are studying today, including 3,000 from foreign countries. "Students from China - there are about 300 of them at PSU - are distinguished by their diligence, achievements in studying and mastering sciences, I would like to separately highlight such qualities as good manners and intelligence," commented Gleb Sintsov. A good example of what was said, emphasized the PSU Vice-Rector, is Li Shutian, the interpreter accompanying the event. A graduate of the bachelor's degree programme in the department of "Russian as a Foreign Language", the young man is currently studying for a master's degree, working at the Institute of International Cooperation and teaching Chinese at one of the schools in the city of Penza.

"PSU's popularity among international students is constantly growing. If in 2018 we had 880 representatives of other countries, now this figure is approaching three thousand," added Gleb Sintsov.

PSU already cooperates with seven educational organizations in China. Among them: Gannan Normal University, Hunan Institute of Science and Technology, Chongqing University, Wuhan Textile University, Lanzhou City University, Lanzhou Jiaotong University, Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

"We hope that the College will take a worthy place among our partners," Gleb Sintsov summed up.

Representatives of the Polytechnic Institute and the Institute of Economics and Administration of PSU presented educational programmes that may be of interest to Chinese partners.

Having discussed aspects of joint activities, the parties agreed to analyze the curricula for individual educational programmes and build a roadmap for organizing training.
