In India, PSU representatives held an admission campaign
The visiting admissions committee of Penza State University conducted entrance examinations for applicants from the Republic of India.
The responsible secretary of the admissions committee, Vitaly Solovyov, and Head of the International Education Office of the Institute of International Cooperation, Sergei Ivanchin, went to India.
"PSU's international activities in India have been successfully and steadily developing for over 11 years thanks to joint work with our partner, the Chevalier Group, headed by Director Yuvraaj Solanki. New projects to develop cooperation with India are planned for the future," commented Gleb Sintsov, Vice-Rector for International Affairs at PSU.
As part of the visit programme, entrance examinations were organized for Indian applicants in five cities: Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Indore, and Bangalore.
"We conducted a series of entrance examinations in three subjects: biology, chemistry and English. It is necessary to note the level of motivation of Indian applicants and the high level of organization of the admission campaign by the Indian partner of PSU," Vitaly Solovyov shared his impressions.
In the city of Vadodora, Margi Parikh, a 2019 graduate of PSU, the first president of the Indian Students Association at PSU, and a candidate for the title of Ambassador of Russian Education Abroad, spoke to applicants. Margi told them how she fondly remembers her years of study at the university, the rich educational programme, and social activities. She praised the applicants for the right choice to study at the leading university in the Penza region.
In Surat, Ajay Sartanpara, a 2021 graduate of PSU, addressed potential students. Ajay shared his successes. He successfully passed the screening test and is now undergoing an internship at the government hospital in Surat, while simultaneously preparing for the exam for admission to residency. This was made possible thanks to the daily efforts of the teachers of the PSU Medical Institute. He wished future students success in their studies at Penza State University.
During the visit, a meeting was held with Indian graduates of PSU in 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023. They said that most of them successfully passed the screening test, some entered residency, and then plan to either work in a private clinic or try to open their own hospitals. About 15 graduates are undergoing residency training abroad.
In addition, a meeting was organized with members of the Association of Parents of Students Studying in Russia, headed by President Pradeepkumar Solanki. The parents conveyed words of gratitude to PSU Rector Aleksandr Guliakov, teachers and staff of the university. They thanked for the opportunity to admit their children to study at PSU. They noted the high level of organization of education and accommodation in residence halls for Indian students.
"Speaking about the high level of organization of training, it is necessary to note the high percentage of Indian graduates passing the screening test after graduating from PSU, which currently makes up 70% of all graduates. We have achieved this result thanks to a unique joint system of training students already at the stage of study at the university," said Yuvraaj Solanki, Director of Chevalier Group.
Sergei Ivanchin, Head of the International Education Office of the Institute of International Cooperation, said that more than 600 Indian students are currently studying at PSU. Based on the results of the admissions committee's work, another 150 people were enrolled. Thus, the total contingent of Indian students will be about 800 people.
