PSU hosts a series of online lectures “Indian and Russian Knowledge System”

A series of online lectures entitled “Indian and Russian Knowledge System” was held at Penza State University from October 10 to 11. The event was held jointly with Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University within the framework of the current cooperation agreement.

At the opening, the participants of the event were greeted by Prof. Vinay Kumar Pathak, Vice-Chancellor of Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University. He emphasized the importance of holding joint Russian-Indian events with the aim of strengthening educational and scientific ties, exchanging experience and developing competences in the scientific research field.

Sergei Vasin, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation at PSU, noted in his greeting the need to organize joint projects. They contribute to the development of international scientific collaboration between Russian and Indian students, which allows strengthening the scientific potential of young people.

Dr. Prabhat Dwivedi, Head of the International Relations Department of the Indian partner university, and Tatiana Razuvaeva, Head of the International Projects Department of the Institute of International Cooperation, PSU, presented the programme of the online lecture series to the audience and noted that the event was being held for the second time. On the first day, October 10, PSU students got acquainted with the reports of Indian scientists. Prof. Sudhir Kumar Awasthi, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, presented some aspects of traditional Indian medicine to the audience. Prof. Anokhe Lal Pathak, Head of the Department of Mathematics, introduced the students to the basics of Vedic mathematics. Dr. Gyanendra Singh, a scientist and practicing physician, spoke about some ancient practices of combating various diseases. Dr. Narendra Kumar Verma, an employee of the Center for Biomedical Research, presented an overview of diabetes treatment in Ancient India. Of particular interest was a presentation by Dr. Yogesh Puri, Associate Professor of Management Studies, in which the scholar showed what lessons from ancient Indian texts can be used to improve corporate culture and life.

On the second day, October 11, scientists from Penza State University presented the results of their scientific research. Pavel Golubkov, Associate Professor of the Department of Information and Measuring Equipment and Metrology, elaborated on the basics of automated production of protective coatings. Tatiana Dubrovskaya, Head of the Department of Foreign Languages ​​and Professional Communication discussed with Indian and Russian participants the transformation of scientific texts in the digital space. Aleksandr Tychkov, Head of the Department of Radioengineering and Radioelectronic Systems, demonstrated examples of the use of virtual reality in the life of a modern person and the prospects for its use in the future. In addition, a report was presented by Anna Kuts, Associate Professor of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology, dedicated to the influence of mindfulness on anxiety before an exam among students.

Students from Indian and Russian universities were able to ask questions to scientists and discuss current aspects of scientific research in the fields of philosophy, culture, pedagogy, philology, and medicine.

The event was held within the framework of a subsidy from the federal budget to higher education institutions for implementing events aimed at supporting student scientific communities. In accordance with the plan of events of the project: "Student scientific communities - Marathon: Youth and Science - Together We Create the Future!" (Agreement on the provision of grants from the federal budget in the form of subsidies No. 075-15-2024-597 dated May 30, 2024 for implementing events aimed at supporting student scientific communities).
