International Friendship Club opens in Penza
On November 27, Ilya Kovalev, Head of the Youth Policy Department of the Penza Region Government and Gleb Sintsov,Vice-Rector for International Affairs, PSU, officially opened a platform for interaction between active youth from different countries.
The International Friendship Club of the Penza Region was officially opened on October 17 as part of the International Forum "Internationalization of Russian Higher Education: Pedagogical Innovations, Problems, Prospects" at Penza State University. This space will be a gathering place for the participants of the International Friendship Club of the Penza Region.
"I would like to congratulate you on the opening of the international space of the International Friendship Club of the Penza Region! We hope that this platform will become a place where participants will be able to develop and implement joint projects, write grants," Ilya Kovalev addressed the participants with a welcoming speech.
More than 4,500 international students are studying in the region. Work on strengthening intercultural dialogue and developing joint initiatives is extremely important for the development of youth policy.
"Representatives of Russian and foreign youth will conduct international language webinars, workshops and interviews with public opinion leaders from different countries, participate in volunteer activities, create joint platforms for exchanging information, attracting new participants and communication, and much more!" emphasized Gleb Sintsov, Vice-Rector for International Affairs of PSU.
At the grand opening, Aleksander Fionov, Advisor to PSU Rector, shared a story about his participation in the World Youth Festival in Cuba in 1978.
“The opening of the international space of the International Friendship Club is not just an event, it is a contribution to building bridges between cultures, where respect, dialogue and cooperation become the foundation for a common future,” noted Adel Maqbol, Chairman of the International Students Association of the Penza Region.
A highlight of the opening was the performance of the KVN team of the Institute of International Cooperation "International Team", which is unique in its composition - India, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Jordan, Egypt, Tajikistan and Zambia, as the personification of friendship among such different nations of the world.
The international space will be a place for uniting representatives of the International Friendship Club of our region.
