PSU student Hu Shengjie is a laureate of the IV Russian-Chinese Student Arts Festival

Penza State University student Hu Shengjie was among the laureates of the IV Russian-Chinese Student Arts Festival and was invited to the final gala concert, where he performed the piece «Вдоль по улице метелица метет».  The event took place on December 3 at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation.

The festival is dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and China.

The Russian-Chinese Student Arts Festival was held in two stages: in absentia and in person. Participants demonstrated their abilities and skills in various types of art and recorded creative video performances. Their works were assessed by a competent jury according to several criteria: consistency with the festival theme, how they perform on stage, professional skill, artistry, musicality, etc.

Penza State University presented two creative performances. Yan Xinyu and Liu Yichuan, students of the Institute of Teacher Education, played the Chinese musical instrument erhu. Their artistic supervisor was Olga Gostyaeva, senior laboratory assistant of the Department of Music and Methods of Teaching Music, PSU. Soloist Hu Shengjie, student of the Institute of Teacher Education, performed the piece “Вдоль по улице метелица метет”. His artistic supervisor was Elena Chepysheva, Honored Artist of Russia, Associate Professor of the Department of Music and Methods of Teaching Music, PSU, accompanist - Anastasia Maryach, Associate Professor of the Department of Music and Methods of Teaching Music, PSU.

The competition received over 100 applications from different parts of our country. The jury announced twenty winners of the competition, including Penza State University student Hu Shengjie. The festival winners performed at the final gala concert at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation.

It should be noted that the festival is aimed at further strengthening cultural exchanges between Russian and Chinese students. It promotes interaction and mutual trust, joint training and joint development of students from Russia and China. The key goal is to promote intercultural communications in the Russian-Chinese youth environment.
