The official visit took place on Sunday, January 26, and became a significant event for both students and the educational institution.
Currently, 36 students from Uzbekistan are studying in the Penza region's higher education institutions, 16 of whom are getting higher education at Penza State University. The visit of the official delegation of the republic emphasizes the mutual interest in cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia in the field of education and science.
During the meeting, Botirjon Asadov expressed his gratitude for the kind words addressed to Uzbek students by PSU Rector Aleksandr Guliakov. He noted that perseverance, diligence and determination of Uzbek students are the key to their successful education and future professional career. Asadov emphasized that the acquired knowledge and skills will help the students, upon returning to their homeland, to become highly qualified specialists in various fields, including engineering, economics, IT, medicine and other areas, which in turn will contribute to the development of Uzbekistan.
Aleksandr Guliakov expressed his gratitude to Botirjon Asadov for his active attention to education and cooperation between the countries. He noted that Penza State University opens its doors to students from different countries, thus creating an international educational environment. Acting Minister of Education of Penza region Aleksei Fomin also added that about 200 citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan are currently studying at all levels of education in the Penza region.
Gleb Sintsov, Vice-Rector for International Affairs at PSU, focused on the importance of socialization of students from abroad. He emphasized that the university is actively working on creating a comfortable environment for international students, providing them not only with quality education, but also with opportunities to participate in extracurricular activities. This includes various clubs and cultural events that help students adapt to new conditions and find new friends.
While communicating with the Ambassador, Parizoda Abdumajidova, an activist of the Institute of International Cooperation, shared her impressions about the life of students at the university. She said that PSU annually organizes various events aimed at supporting international students. For example, a cultural festival “Around the World in Two Semesters” is organized, where students can present their traditions, cuisine and customs, which promotes intercultural exchange and strengthening friendship between nations. Such initiatives help Uzbek students not only adapt to life in Russia, but also take pride in their cultural heritage.
It is important to note that such visits by high-ranking representatives from Uzbekistan serve not only to strengthen ties between the countries, but also to create new opportunities for students. Ambassador of the Republic Botirjon Asadov stressed that educational programmes can become the basis for future joint projects between Uzbekistan and Russia, which will contribute to the development of science and technology in both countries.
Thus, Botirjon Asadov's visit to Penza State University was an important step towards strengthening educational ties between the countries.
The students had an opportunity to ask questions, discuss their future plans and receive support from the Ambassador of the Republic. This not only inspired them to further their studies, but also gave them confidence that their efforts would not go unnoticed and their achievements would contribute to the development of both their home country and Russia.
