Institute of International Cooperation holds information and prevention meetings with second- and third-year students
On February 18, 19 and 20, Penza State University held a series of information and prevention meetings with second- and third-year international students as part of the adaptation plan: on February 18 with students in Russian-language programmes - students from the CIS countries, on February 19 and 20 with students in English-language programmes - from India and Arab countries.
Traditionally, representatives of the Russian Federation security agencies were present at the meeting: Senior Lieutenant of Police Department No. 4 Vladimir Ashaev; Lieutenant of Police Department No. 4 Tuktarov Ruslan; Senior operative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Penza Region, Police Major Yuliia Ermolaeva. Also, the speakers were Valery Matyukov, Head of the Fire Safety Service of Penza State University; Sergey Ivanchin, Head of the International Education Office and heads of relevant departments of the International Education Office.
During their speeches, the invited experts spoke about the rules of staying on the territory of the Russian Federation, administrative and criminal liability for violating the legislation of the Russian Federation and measures of state influence for failure of a foreign citizen to comply with the laws of the Russian Federation, liability for crimes in the field of illegal drug trafficking, the procedure for carrying out labor activities by foreign students, the prevention of Internet fraud, compliance with fire safety on the territory of the university and in residence halls. Employees of the law enforcement agencies of Russia in the Penza region showed preventive photos and videos.
Sergey Ivanchin, Head of the International Education Office of the Institute of International Cooperation, PSU, and heads of departments of the International Education Office reminded about the obligation of foreign citizens and stateless persons to undergo the procedure of state fingerprint registration, explained the innovations in the migration legislation. During the meeting, the issues of the rules of accommodation in PSU residence halls and the rules of conduct on the territory of the university were touched upon.
"Foreign students must clearly understand their rights and obligations when studying in our country. And, of course, strictly comply with Russian legislation. Such meetings are an excellent opportunity to remind them of this and warn them against rash actions," emphasized Police Major Yuliia Ermolaeva, Senior operative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Penza Region.
