Representatives of the Medical Institute of Penza State University, Professor Oleg Zenin and student Maisa Serdarova, presented reports at the International Scientific Conference "Science and Education of the 21st Century" on pedagogical education. The scientific event took place on June 4 at the Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute named after Seyitnazar Seydi (Turkmenistan).

The forum brought together more than 250 participants from dozens of Turkmen universities and foreign scientists from Russia, the Republic of Belarus, China, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, and South Korea.

Penza State University was represented by Oleg Zenin, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Human Anatomy, the Faculty of General Medicine, and Maisa Serdarova, 2nd year student of the Medical Institute.

Oleg Zenin presented a report on "Functional characteristics of different types of bifurcation of intraorgan arteries of the human heart" at the plenary session. The scientist attempts to establish the functional features of different types of bifurcations of the intraorgan arterial bed of the heart (IABH) of a human by virtual testing of their digital models based on the results of morphometry. Four types of bifurcations are considered: full, lateral, one-sided and full symmetry. Using the ANSYS and Vasculograph computer programmes, the conductive, distributive and supporting functions of their digital models are studied.

"Different types of IABH bifurcations participate to an unequal extent in performing the conductive, distributive and supporting functions. The main role in performing the functions on conducting blood, distributing its flows and creating the "soft skeleton" of the heart belongs to the first type of bifurcation (complete symmetry). As a morphometric standard of the normal structure of IABH, it is recommended to use the quantitative ratio of bifurcations of different types,"
Oleg Zenin shared.

Maisa Serdarova presented the study "Morphometric characteristics of various types of bifurcation of the coronary arteries of the human heart in individuals of different sexes and ages" (scientific supervisor – Oleg Kalmin, candidate of medical sciences, associate professor of the Department of Human Anatomy at PSU). The researchers proposed conceptual models that allow for a quantitative description of the features of the vascular bed. In their opinion, this approach will contribute to the creation of a morphometric standard of the vascular bed, which will help in the objective diagnosis of possible deviations from the normal structure.

They established the morphometric features of different types of bifurcations of the coronary arteries of the human heart (CAHH). For this purpose, more than 50 human hearts were examined.

"The established morphometric features of the structure of bifurcations of the coronary arteries of the human heart (CAHH) of different structural types should be taken into account in the numerical modeling of the morphology of the bed of the coronary arteries. In addition, the obtained values of the studied indicators can be used as a basis for creating a morphometric standard of CAHH and in the future, after appropriate modifications, as a criterion for the normal structure of the bed of the coronary arteries," said Maisa Serdarova.
